![]() MONDAY In Language, we read "The Most Dangerous Game" (http://www.classicshorts.com/stories/danger.html) and students wrote responses in their journals. In Math, we looked at writing numbers in standard form and expanded form using exponential notation (powers of 10) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBAOJ9NdVdM). In Health class, students finished researching their Health Disorders (concerning nutrition) and posted their findings in groups on Edsby. TUESDAY In Math, students wrote practice quizzes in Socrative on Place Value, Rounding, and Expanded form. In Language, we started our mini-unit on Paragraph Writing. We focused on topic sentences. In our Science class, we corrected worksheets 3 and 4 together and students wrote practice quizzes on Socrative. WEDNESDAY In Language today, students continued independent reading and we started exploring a new website that will help students monitor their reading and responses: Biblionasium https://www.biblionasium.com/ In mathematics, we reviewed the topics in our first unit and students wrote a practice test. All students received a review booklet. Please sign your student's booklet so I know that you have seen it and are aware of our Math Unit Test on Friday, Oct. 2. THURSDAY Students are reviewing for their math test tomorrow. In language, we looked at topic sentence and students typed a paragraph into Edsby. FRIDAY We continue to focus on paragraph writing in Language Arts. Yesterday
we wrote a paragraph focused on a topic sentence and posted it in Edsby.
Today, we looked at unity in paragraphs and focused on eliminating
sentences that don't belong (. In Science, we looked at Types of Succession and Human Impact on the Environment.
