   March 29                                 DAY 2

8:45 - 10:00   7B MATHEMATICS (Room 123)
- Students have been working on adding integers
- Start this class by correcting their worksheets from yesterday - 6.3 and 6.4 - under the Elmo
- Students will need to review the steps for adding integers (I prefer looking at it like a balance ... do you have more positives or more negatives?  how many more?)
- Play these introductory videos for the class: 
- The last video is especially important - we stress that students rewrite subtracting integers as a related addition.  They have to keep the first integer the same and Add The Opposite of the second integer.
- Have students work on worksheets 6.6 and 6.7 (I have uploaded a PDF of these worksheets below - you will have to print them out)
- Please remind students that we are not using counters or number lines today - they have to rewrite each question as addition (ATO) and then solve - showing all work.
- If the worksheets ask them to use models etc. they don't have to - just ATO

- Please give students 15-20 minutes to look over review sheets before writing their online quizzes.
- Have each student get a laptop from the common room.
- They need to go to my website:  mringram.com   and then click on Online Tests and 7C Science.
-  I will open the test for them to complete from home (it remains locked otherwise)
- Remind students to spread out desks as much as they physically can and to keep their eyes on their own laptops with no talking
- It shoudl be a quick quiz for most ... but some need extended time.

- When students finish, they are allowed to work on their Scratch (programming) projects - please ask for volumes to be turned off until everyone is done writing the test.

- Students have a unit test tomorrow!
- They all have review sheets to study from - they can also be found here:  http://www.mringram.com/uploaded-files/gr-7-science-files
- At the beginning of class, have students write the multiple choice quiz - it is not for marks, but simply for practice.
- Take up the quiz with the class (answers are provided) and they should bring it home with them to help them study.
- For the rest of class, I want students studying their review sheets (or found on my website) quietly or using a laptop to go on my Quizlets (https://quizlet.com/138653547/gr-7-science-pure-substances-and-mixtures-flash-cards/) - I'd rather they all stay in my room and not go in the common room nor the hallways.
- If they ask to play Quizlet live they cannot unfortunately ... I have to be logged in and launch it from my account.
